Partnering for Purpose is a European Learning Community, hosted by KingsGate Community Church, in partnership with a number of the leading church networks. With this in mind, medium to large churches from a wide range of denominational affiliations, church networks and backgrounds will be gathering together to support and learn from each other.

This Partnering for Purpose Learning Community will be a three-year journey. As well as an annual in-person gathering, we will be offering bespoke church assessments, an online community hub, as well as virtual coaching and peer accountability. While drawing on the wisdom of leaders, speakers and mentors from around the world, the main focus will be learning from what God is doing among our own European and UK churches. Many leading networks and churches have committed to the journey; we would love you to join us as well.

The Learning Community will be based on partnership, encouragement, commitment, growth, and trust. We truly believe that we are better together, as we put into practice the exhortation of the writer of Hebrews:

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds,”

Hebrews 10:24 NIVUK

OUR JOURNEY

Year 1

Healthy Leaders

October 2024 — September 2025

During the first year we will start with Healthy Leaders, because we know that healthy leaders produce healthy churches which can then impact our local communities and beyond. We will look at developing our personal spiritual health, how we build a healthy team and culture, and look at effective ways to raise and release leaders within our churches.

Year 2

Growing Churches

October 2025 — September 2026

During our second year, as well as continuing to develop healthy leaders, the focus will shift to Growing Churches. We will learn from best practices for growing in fruitful evangelism, developing an effective discipleship pathway, and engaging our rapidly changing culture, especially through the lens of the next generation. Undergirding everything will be an emphasis on holding firm to being thoroughly Word-based and Spirit-empowered.

Year 3

Kingdom Expansion

October 2026 — September 2027

In the final year of our journey, we will work together to see an increase of Kingdom Expansion through mission and the multiplication of faith communities. We will explore models of multiplying disciples, leaders, missional communities, campuses/locations, church plants, as well as fresh expressions of church. We believe that together, along with a sovereign move of God, we can see significant Kingdom expansion into our nations.

First in-person gathering

Monday 14 October 2024 to Wednesday 16 October 2024

At Kingsgate Community church / Peterborough

We will gather together at KingsGate once a year, but throughout the year there will be opportunities to connect online via a community hub and virtually in smaller cohorts. While most churches will commit to the full three-year cycle, there is also the opportunity to join for a single year.

Cost

£1200 to Pay

The cost to participate in 2024 is £1,200 per church and includes meals during the gathering. In addition to this, churches need to pay for their own travel and accommodation. It is highly recommended that the senior team leader attends the gatherings, and the registration fee includes a team of three others. Additional team members can be added for £300 per person per in-person gathering. Please note that these fees represent only a percentage of the real cost of a Learning Community. The remainder of the funding has been provided by donors who believe strongly in the strategic impact of the programme.
